The Birthday Banner

A long  BIRTHDAY tradition, for who knows how many years....
is hanging a Birthday Sign on the door of the BIRTHDAY PERSON!
The sign is hung the night before the birthday, while the birthday person is sleeping!

The kids LOVE THIS!!!

We even put the sign on our door when Steve or I have a b-day!  The kids just love it that much!!

So, this year as Steve and I went to find the sign...it was gone!
Then, I suddenly remembered (after searching EVERYWHERE) that I think I threw it away because the ribbon strands hanging down were all breaking!

So, at 11pm Steve and I  MAKE A NEW BIRTHDAY BANNER!!!

The new banner is actually cuter than the one I bought many years ago!

And, of course the kids all noticed it was NEW and LOVED it!!!

It's the little things that Kids LOVE!!!

The Actual Day!!

The boys spent the night with Grandma and Grandpa the night before Paige's "REAL" birthday so that allowed Paige and I have a FUN BIRTHDAY GIRL DAY!!!

First Stop---a Hair FEATHER!!
Paige had been waiting and waiting to get a feather!  I told her we were only getting one, blah blah blah...but when we got there, I decided she needed green AND pink!!
Needless to say--she was THRILLED!!!
(yea, and the feather lasted maybe 2 weeks! But, she loved it for the 2 weeks!!!)

Next Stop--Lunch!  She wanted Wendy's!!!
I bought this Birthday Headband this year and WE LOVE IT!!!
SO many people would stop and say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to her!
It just made her day that much MORE SPECIAL!!!!

Paige went to the last day of Bible School on her b-day and got to go on stage and sing--
since it was her birthday!  Her friends Shelby and Kelsy got her a gift with make-up and nail fun!  **The perfect gift for Paige**  In this gift was FAKE NAILS for kids!  Super funny!
Paige was dying to put them on, but I made her wait until after our Girls Day Out!
So, here they are!
Once they were on....she wasn't so sure of how they felt!!!
The first of many lessons that being a girl isn't always comfortable!!!
(I tell Steve all the time, my shoes hurt, but they are cute!!)

After our girls Day--it was home to set up for the party later that night!

Cousin Taylor and Paige

Tyler had a baseball game and all the family came to his game and then to our house for Paige's FAMILY PARTY right after!

Partying ROCK STAR Style!!

Jaden made this sign especially for Paige and wrapped it for her.  He was super proud!!

And of course you have to have GIFTS at a BIRTHDAY PARTY!!

A bike, new shoes, a fishing pole (she really wanted a Barbie fishing pole--too funny!), an umbrella (her umbrella broke and she wanted a new one!), money, and more!!

I think 5 was a success!  And, now she'll get ready for Kindergarten!  I cannot believe that she is SO BIG!!!  We love you sweet girl!  You are bubbly and sassy.  You are all girl!  You love to sit at your new "big girl desk" and do your make-up and hair.  This is your favorite thing to do now.  You are excited for school (but, I am guessing you will not go in easily the first day!!)  You are SO GOOD at saying THANK YOU and PLEASE!  I never have to remind you...
it is just natural for you!
You are a blessing and we love you SO VERY MUCH!!!

Paige Turns 5

June 24--Paige turned 5!!!
Up to this year, Paige and Jaden have shared a "kid party"---because being 11 months apart, they pretty much shared the same friends!
Well, this was the year to have their own separate parties!!!

The friends:
Mary Kate, Reghan, Braylin, Logan (Jaden's friend), Emmie, Carly, and Jadyn B.

5 neighbors went it together to buy this water slide for the summer!  We used it for both Paige and Jaden's b-day parties!!  Easy enough!!

We also did the girls' toes!!

And they got "Rock Star" tattoos!!

Paige's theme this year was ROCK STAR so the treat bags had a blow-up microphone and a clip in colored hair braid and a few other things, but it was really a FUN theme!!

Happy Birthday Sweet Paige!

**Gifts--Paige and Jaden decided this year they would collect their birthday gifts for kids who are sick and in the hospital...like their cousin Sydney who has Leukemia!  I am super proud of these kids.  I just ASKED them, would you like to do this and they both QUICKLY agreed and thought this was a great idea!  So, we put a note in our invitation letting our friends know what they were doing with their gifts!  We decided we are blessed and we don't need those extra gifts---we wanted to bless other kids!**

More Baseball

We can't forget Miss Paige!!
One would think she would get bored or tired of baseball....but she has a blast---
actually, she doesn't watch much of the games!  She is Miss Social Butterfly!

She has a different set of friends at each brother's game!
Taylor and Cabella at Jaden's games!
Reagan and whoever else they find--at Tyler's games!

The girls play in the dirt, run around, talk, eat, eat, play, who knows!
They do everything but watch the game.  But as long as she leaves me alone
so I CAN watch the game---It's fine with me!

Tyler's complex has a concession stand (or a construction stand--as Jaden and Paige call it!)
I think nearly every game, one of the grandparents would buy the kids a treat!
And, when it's 106 degrees----a SNOW CONE is the best choice!

June

It is EASY to summarize what our family did for the month of JUNE!!!

We lived at the BASEBALL FIELDS!!!

I took nearly the entire month off of jewelry shows so I could be a part of it all!  Some weeks we were at the fields 4 nights a week, often 3 nights!!!  But, it is a blast!  I LOVE IT!!!  I love watching, yelling, taking pictures, I just love it all!!!

This was Jaden's first year for T-ball and of course---he was GOOD!
And, stinkin cute!!

Dad says---Good form Jaden!!!

And the MEDAL!!  Jaden's team ended up taking 4th in the tournament!!

PRECIOUS!!!

Tyler played on the same team as last year and they were MUCH IMPROVED THIS YEAR!
They took 4th over in their tournament too!

Tyler also improved this year!  He really is awesome!
His coach likes to move the boys around to different positions---the parents don't really like this!
Tyler does awesome at First Base, Short Stop, and Third Base!
Steve (one of the assistant coaches) even started playing Tyler in the Outfield because
so many of the teams could SLAM the ball way out there and Tyler could stop it and get it thrown in QUICKLY!!!

Tyler hit 5 home-runs this year and hit 24/28!!  Pretty darn good!!!

Not to mention how CUTE these boys are in their uniforms!  My Grandma Balzer would
FOR SURE have commented on how cute their little bottoms were!!  Grandma always looked at bottoms and legs!!  HE HE!  Gotta love Grandma!!

So, that in a nut shell was JUNE!
A few weeks off and then we start FOOTBALL and SOCCER---
but we have to do 2 basketball camps in between!  YES, we love being busy at our house!

Friend Party!!!

Birthdays aren't Birthdays without a PARTY!!!
This is the first year Jaden and Paige have had separate parties!  With their b-days 3 weeks apart from each other (and only 1 year difference) and being so young they still had the same friends!  This year with Jaden in Kindergarten and Paige in Pre-school...
they have their OWN FRIENDS!!!!
(some friends still get invited to both their parties---lucky them!!)

Blow-up Water Slide!!  LOTS OF FUN!!!

Party Pics with the Party Guests!!!

**This year Jaden and Paige collected gifts for their birthdays that we could donate to kids in the hospital!  Their cousin, in Michigan, was diagnosed with Leukemia last Sept. and we wanted to help and give back to kids here in Wichita who might be suffering the same as Syd!!  We took 2 HUGE bags full of gifts to the hospital and my 3 kids got to handout the gifts to many of the kids and then the rest of the gifts were left for the staff to hand out!  What an awesome experience it was for my kids!  And, I am SO PROUD of them for giving away their gifts from their friend parties!!!**

Sibling LOVE---there's none like it!!!
