We LOVE Mrs. Whelan!

This is Tyler's 2nd year to have her as a teacher and we are sure HOPING Jaden

will get her next year!

She is pregnant with her 2nd child so the class had a

SURPRISE BABY SHOWER for her the last weeks of school!

Cat in the Hat---One Thing, Two Thing, NEW THING....was our theme!

Baby showers are not complete without GAMES!

Game #1--- Candy bars melted in diapers to look like POOP! 

 The 3rd graders thought this was HILLARIOUS!

Another FUNNY game for 3rd graders!!  I was shocked, they did taste it!

HA!!!!!!  of course I didn't mae it!  But, it was stinkin cute!

We are SUPER BLESSED to have an awesome school for our kids!  Awesome staff and Awesome teachers!  I am even more blessed that I can volunteer in the classrooms, get to know the teachers, my kids' friends, and the other staff!

BLESSED!!!!! and THANKFUL!!!!

Tyler and Zachary

Tyler was chosen by his teacher first and then the final group of kids was chosen by the principal to be in CIRCLE OF FRIENDS!

Circle of Friends happens once a month.  Peer students go into the Special Education

room and do special activities with those students! 

 They did many special crafts, Easter egg hunt, and went to the zoo in May!

Mrs. McFadden--the Circle of Friends teacher---is forever telling me how WONDERFUL Tyler is with Zachary and the other students in her class! 

 He is so patient, kind, helpful, and appreciated in her class! 

I got to go to the Zoo Field trip with Tyler.  BUT---he said I couldn't go at first and then really had to think hard about it.  REALLY??  He is almost outgrowing me tagging along? 

 I'm not ready for that yet!  But, he did "allow" be to go! And, we had  a great time!

Students can only be in Circle of Friends one year---to allow other peer students a chance!

So,Tyler won't get to do it next year....but he sure did love it this year!!!

Jaden's Patriotic Program

Jaden's FIRST GRADE class held a PATRIOTIC PROGRAM

the last week of school!

All serious business for Jaden!  No smiling allowed!

Jaden had the longest part of all the kids from both classes.  And, he said it SUPER FAST! But, he did a great job memorizing it!  Just no smiling!

Not sure what was going on here.....but I did capture ONE smile from the MANY pictures I took during the program!!!  ONE SMILE!!!

These boys are un-separable!  I sure hope Jaden has at least one of these boys in his class next year!  I am sure Mrs. Short separated them and won't allow them ALL to be together again!  It was a FUN year though!  These boys made it an easy transition from Kindergarten to 1st grade for Jaden!

Next she's trying TUMBLING and then I think dance again, at a new place.

There's talk of basketball next winter!  We've been practicing already!!

I am grateful we have the "means" to be able to let our kids try all these different activities.  It's NOT cheap!  Now that I am a parent, I realize how much money my parents spent on me and my brothers!  I remember being upset because I had to choose 2 types of dance---ballet and tap and couldn't do the third, Jazz. 

NOW I GET IT!!!!!  More classes, more shoes, more costumes, more, more, more......

I GET IT!!!!!!!

 But, THANKS to my parents for always allowing me to try everything and be in everything when I was a kid!  I want to do the same for my kids!!

Spring Basketball

NO Baseball for us this summer.....Just More BASKETBALL!!!

The boys were given the choice---to play baseball this summer or play Spring basketball.  They both chose Spring Basketball!  We were pretty excited about that choice because last summer we spent 4-5 nights A WEEK at the baseball field!

For Spring Ball Steve made a team of 1st graders AND 3rd graders. 

They are playing in the 2nd/3rd grade league!  So far, it's worked well. 

 Jaden is a bit intimidated, but getting better each week.
